But I had ignored the calling, being too overwhelmed to start a new 700 paged book, but I told myself that if I read 100 pages every night, I would finish within the week. This is exactly what I did. As of writing this, I have finished A Court of Silver Flames within the week.
So here is a mini review; This book centers on Nesta, Feyre’s stone cold staring sister and Cassian, bat boy and one of Rhysand’s right hand men. Most of this book follows Nesta coming to terms with what happened in the war, her father and what it means to be a Made fae. I absolutely loved the self healing journey that Nesta journeyed through. I loved the sisterhood and women power that comes from this book. Gwyn was my favourite side character and I wanted more of her. Now I like a sprinkling of spice but this book could have toned down the sex between Nesta and Cassian. It bored me and I just wanted more of the storyline that was happening in the background with Feyre and another potential up and coming war.
I was satisfied with the ending but felt slightly rushed. I hope Sarah J Maas continues the story and gives us an Azriel and Elain book.
Simultaneously I read The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse and I finished this within the week too. A full review will be up soon but I quite enjoyed this creepy thriller and now I’m currently reading another thriller that is not shown in the photos.
I also took it upon myself to read one story a day from the Winter Magic book as it’s a collection of shorts. I’ve read four so far and have loved them all. It’s the perfect book for middle grade nd adults who want some winter/christmas themed stories to get you in the mood.
I’m glad I’ve gotten out of the dry spell. I had read 4 books between September and the start of November, so it feels great to be reading again.
